Many people know that the Orange Conference is put on reThink. reThink is a curriculum provider. For this reason many people might believe that the Orange Conference is simply an expensive sales pitch. The may be conferences that are like this, but this is not one of them. When you walk through the vendor area you will see materials from reThink. You will also see dozens of other vendors, even “competing” curriculum providers such as Lifeway and Group. Would a curriculum company invite other vendors if their goals was primarily to sell you their stuff?
I have even known some that hesitated to attend the conference because of the concern. This is a reasonable concern. After all, who wants to pay all that money and travel to Atlanta just to have to sit through two or three days of sales pitch. This year will be my third Orange Conference. In the two that I have attended so far I have not had this feeling. Certainly they will mention various products from the stage, but the meet of each speakers message is based on something other than reThink’s latest product.
I won’t belabor this point further, but let me say that if this is the only thing holding you back from attending the Orange Conference, don’t let it. If you have any other concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Feel free to leave a comment below or email me.Matt Norman
