Thanks Jessica. I think and pray for you guys often. One of my deepest desires is that God would use me to minister to kids in times like those, when life gets REALLY hard.

Matt you are dead on. Dealing with children who have gone through a tragedy is gut wrenching to watch. As a parent of a child who has had to endure something very tragic, the pain you feel for them is sometimes too hard to bear. There have been times I have found myself on my knees pleading to God not to leave him in the pain and asking him to help him endure the next minute. Matt what you wrote is wonderful helpful advice. The greatest fear of a parent is to watch your child suffer with something that you have no control over. It has really put my faith to the test but God is showing me every day that He is making these ashes into beauty. God has great plans for our children and I know that this suffering will not be in vain. Thank you Matt for making yourself available for our son in his time of need. I thank God for you.

Thanks Sam. I only hope that my words can help some during this very difficult time. I just published another post about how to help kids through times of tragedy. I'd love to hear what you think of that one as well.

wow great post about something we all deal with. it is mind bending and can be faith breaking to have tragic events happen in your life. there are mysteries this side of heaven that our minds can not comprehend.

I was so sad for the losses this week in Moore. I can not imagine going to work and coming home to find no home...our even worse a loss of my child or a loved one. it is heartbreaking.

your profound reply cracked me up..."I don't know."

well the fact is we don't know and it is impossible for our puny minds to understand such devastating events.

our faith will be tested through fire and tribulations. we must stand and turn to gods word for comfort and strength.

thank you for this great and timely post Matt

One of the things I have been wrestling with and thinking about is just along these lines. The issue today is I don't think enough people or christian's are setting any goals for their walk with GOD. I believe there is a great harvest before us and God has given me a vision for this. I believe that the internet may be the greatest vehicle for bringing God's Word to the World.

And I have also come to the conclusion that if it is NOT for God's Glory then what is the sense in even doing it!

I hope that anyone who reads this will set Daily God Goals in their lives. Even if it is as simple as picking up the word daily and reading, meditating and praying. The world is becoming so complex and so fast that it is more important than ever that we as Christians are stepping up and becoming Warriors for Christ!
