    Faith Enough to Quit.

When we think of faith we tend to think about having enough faith to DO something. Faith enough to tithe. Faith enough to move to a new area. Faith enough to build a giant boat and put your family and two of every animal on it in order to save them so God can purge the rest of humanity from the earth. You know, that kind of faith. Certainly, these things require faith, but I think that there might be something that requires even more faith…QUITTING. I’m not talking about jumping from a sinking ship. That’s easy. I’m not talking about leaving one place because you got a better offer…

    Book Review: The Eric Trap

“the week caught up with Eric as he buried his face in his hands and wept.” With this one sentence I knew that his book was for me. But, how often do we simply pray for a greater desire for Him? For me it is my ministry that I often pray for. I felt God calling me to ministry around six years ago. I think I can say that I am doing more ministry and doing better ministry now than perhaps ever since that day. Still, I don’t feel any closer to what God called me to then I was on that day. Still I work a 40 hour…

Notes from Orange: 5 Catalysts of Spiritual Growth

In April 2012 I attended the Orange Conference. If you have never had chance to attend this conference, do it. This is some reflection on one of the sessions I attended at that conference. Speaker: Taka Iguchi. At the time of this conference (April 2012) Taka was serving  Spiritual Development Pastor for Rockford First Church.   In this session Taka explained that there are certain things that happen within our lives that serve to move us from one level of spiritual growth to the next. These things fall into 5 major categories. Here are those truths: Life Changing Truth: For many people this is the first time you hear the Gospel.…
